I started quilting while living in Izmir, Turkey, our first overseas tour in the military. A friend taught me a one-on-one pillow cover session (photo below). After that one session I had a passion for quilting and patchwork. For some reason I chose the Ohio star pattern at that time and so I began piecing block by block and finished the lap quilt after eight years and after three country moves.
